Edmonton Police Service Training For Aparthied

Pretty fucked up that EPS wants to learn from a aparthied state how to police the community. Cops of the world are united in their oppression. The multi million dollar propaganda machine of the EPS comms department about to go into overdrive to convince Edmonton that they should embrace the hate of the IDF. The police commission, behind closed doors, provides political cover and approves EPS brutality. The gaslighting is coming in full force. What they learned is the language of the occupier - all dissenting opinion is just radical activists.

Wonder what EPS shares abroad - How to sweep camps? How to run a open air prison? How to radicalize the force? How to run a propagandists arm? How to surveil a population with AI body cameras?

Fuck this nonesense. The lack of any backbone from council is astonishing. The mayor already talks about this in the past tense - pushing for rebuilt trust. Lame.

EPS is beating protesters. They are intimidating the judicial system. They employ more propagandists daily. Their leadership and union play open politics. It is giving police state tbh.

Sweep EPS. Sweep the commission. A citizens commission to root out all other connections to aparthied or any racist elements of this farce of a organization.

What is EPS Learning in Isreal

Anyone else remember?

That same spot was peaceful moments before. A true and standard protest action at the UofA. Whoever had them beat was a coward of a special kind - the kind who gets off on beating students and traumatizing youth. True colonizer.

The brutality of our police is legendary. The number of deaths from exposure, while cops destroy shelters, is sky rocketing. Edmonton Police Service receives endless budget increases while all other city budgets shrink. The police have tanks, planes, helicopters, drones, dogs, and god knows what ai super spy software. They have killed youth and beaten students.

The mayor is "disappointed" that your police service is learning how to police you from a apartheid genocidal state. Apparently this has done harm to the community relationship and trust will need to be rebuilt. No accountability called for.

What trust? EPS is toxic to the community. As things get worse, they turn these new learnings on more dissenters.

under liberals, nothing changes

The mayor wont actually do anything. Will get some statements. No actions. EPS will continue to function with impunity. The public will be barred from oversight meetings. As they beat citizens, theyll whine for their safety, behind screens, like a dystopian big brother film. Turns my stomach.

May Edmontonians be free from anything that Isreal has to offer. May all oppressed peoples be free. May colonizers and enforcers, foreign and domestic, fail under all conditions.

Take Your Grandma to Drag Brunch

Today (2026-01-11) I went for drag brunch with my Grandma. If you've not included the senior folks in your life in such an event before, I cannot recommend it highly enough. It would be wonderful to see events just for Grandmas; however, for now, the brunch is probably the most suitable way to expose folks to the fun of it all.

Anyway, we went and saw:

drag brunch

Loved it. Felt like a day trip to a 90s club girl pageant extravaganza. There is something of an age divide in the scene; idk what that is all about, however this particular set, there were no younger folks.

Mom also came along. It was really incredible to have all of us there; three generations. Feels so deeply gratifying and settling - like things are good, we can have fun, and tomorrow will be more color, drag, and good times. Yeah.

feels good

I for whatever reason can't help myself; any question about gender from my mother or grandma, I always reflect back. It is not a kind thing to do, but this time the conversation went something like:

Mom: "Okay, Reed, so what gender are they?" (which honestly, super cool of mom to be able to put this sentence together—come a long way in the language)

Me: "Idk mom, what gender do you think they are?"

Mom: "Well, come on, those are men."

Me: "How do you know, mom?"

Mom: "Psssshhhh they are, don't be a dork." (paraphrasing)

Me: "Well how can you tell?"

Shayla (our saving grace): "Your mom means how to refer to them, Reed, don't be a jackass." (again paraphrasing)

Me, still smirking, still being difficult: "Well y'all, I only see Kings and Queens on-stage, seems obvious to me."

Grandma, big huff: "They are men! Don't be daft. They said so on stage last time I saw a show."

Me, cackling: "Grandma! How do you know?!"

Mom, piling on: "Yeah Myrt, how do you know, did you follow all of them around?"

hahahahahaha idk y'all it was probably the single most healing experience in a hot minute. A ton of fun too.

There are always really interesting language divides. Things change, however the seniors in my life constantly amaze me. My Grandma loves the sparkle, the fun, the outrageousness of it all. It does normalize everything a ton too; things are pretty okay if Grandma can go to drag brunch. Compared to all that Grandma has lived through, she truly is amazing, a queen amongst queens.

Grandma Myrt, if you are reading this, you are a hero to me. I mean it. Love you!

Watch to the end 🙏
